The Club has received another welcome donation from the Easom family (see Club Achievements for details of the Easom Trophy).
John Easom has been associated with the club for many years now and this generous donation of £100 is very much appreciated.
Look out for John at some of the Mavericks home games this season.
For the first time in Mavericks history, one of its teams has a regular ice slot.
In an effort to turn around the dismal 07-08 season, the Mavericks coaches have welcomed the offer of regular ice at the new ice rink in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
All Mavericks players will wear plain black socks for the 2008-9 campaign. No more Harlequin Curtis-esq sock ensembles.
Don’t scurry to the shops just yet, though. Orders for WOOLLY black socks will be taken at the Club Trials on 8th Oct and a deal will be sought with our new kit supplier - Crazy Kenny himself. Estimated cost £7 per pair.
Mavericks Head Coach, Simon Hopkins, would like to congratulate two former players in the their new appointments as pro hockey players with Belgian outfit Liege Bulldogs. Colm Cannon - former Mavericks A Team Captain, has signed alongside former Manchester Phoenix (Elite Ice Hockey League) player, Nick Whyatt. * FULL ICE HOCKEY KIT MUST BE WORN ON THE ICE!!
* Suitable off-ice kit is ESSENTIAL (running trainers, shorts and t-shirt - NO SWEATS)
* Trials cost £10
* Club membership, registration and insurance costs £75 for players already with shirts, £110 for those without shirts.
